Trainual Launches Performance suite
Feedback, growth areas, ratings, and reviews, grounded in the training and ops work your team already does.
SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., September 29, 2026 — Trainual, the training, operations, and performance platform for growing teams, today launched the Performance suite. The release extends the platform past documenting how work should happen and running the day to day, into developing the people who do the work.
The launch completes Trainual as three connected suites. The Training suite covers onboarding, SOPs, and process documentation. The Operations suite, launched in May at Playbook 2026, runs meetings, goals, scorecards, and team updates. The new Performance suite brings feedback, growth areas, ratings, and review cycles into the same system, grounded in the roles, training, and operational activity Trainual already captures.
The company describes the combined effect as turning performance from a twice-a-year event into an ongoing process built on real work.
What the Performance suite includes
- Feedback and praise that can be given anytime, publicly for wins and privately for harder conversations, with every entry kept on the employee's record
- Growth areas that carry across review cycles and link directly to the training content that helps an employee close the gap
- Ratings, a 1–5 score on how someone is meeting expectations that can be logged at any point and charts into a trend over time
- AI-generated overviews that summarize what's going well and what needs a conversation, drawing on training, operations, and performance data
- Review cycles that assemble a full year of feedback, ratings, growth areas, goals, and private manager notes into the review itself
Why Trainual built Performance suite
Research on how performance is managed shows reviews rarely do what they're meant to. According to Gallup, only 14% of employees strongly agree their performance reviews inspire them to improve, and just 26% strongly agree their reviews are accurate. 74% of employees are evaluated once a year or less.
The same body of research points to frequency as the fix. Employees are 3.6 times more likely to strongly agree they're motivated to do outstanding work when their manager gives daily rather than annual feedback.
Trainual's own research surfaced the constraint that shaped the product decision. Over half of surveyed managers named "one more tool" as the primary barrier to adopting performance software. Building performance into the system teams already use for process documentation, roles and responsibilities, and daily operations was a direct response to both findings.
Connected to Training and Operations
Because Performance runs on the same platform as the Training and Operations suites, reviews are measured against the responsibilities and standards a company has already documented. For teams running the Operations suite, goals, updates, meeting history, and scorecards feed directly into reviews, and growth areas link to existing goals without separate records. Each suite works on its own; together they share a single data layer.
