Trainual Launches Operations suite at Playbook 2026

PHOENIX, May 14, 2026 Trainual, the training, documentation, and operations platform for growing teams, today launched the Operations suite on stage at Playbook 2026, its annual user conference. The release extends the platform beyond documenting and training on how work should happen, into running the day to day.

The launch reorganizes Trainual into two connected suites. The existing platform becomes the Training suite, covering onboarding, SOPs, and process documentation. The new Operations suite is where those standards get carried out, bringing meetings, goals, scorecards, team updates, and AI-powered insights into the same system as the documentation they depend on.

The company describes the combined effect as closing the loop between how work should happen and how it is going.

What the Operations suite includes

  • Meetings with structured agendas and assigned action items, where discussion topics convert into action items and decisions can be turned into documented content in a few clicks
  • Goals the whole team can see, linked directly to meetings so priorities stay in view as work moves
  • Scorecards tracking key metrics week over week, with trends, streaks, and benchmarks visible in the room where decisions get made
  • Updates, customizable async check-ins on a set cadence that replace status meetings and surface what is moving and what is stuck
  • AI insights, which analyze patterns between what should be happening and what is, plus Team Pulse for health and activity signals across scorecards, meetings, updates, and content
Component What it does What it replaces
Meetings Structured agendas with assigned action items. Discussion topics convert to action items, and decisions can become documented content in a few clicks. Meeting notes kept in documents, which 31% of teams reported doing.
Goals Targets the whole team can see, tracked over time and linked directly to the meetings where they get discussed. Goals tracked in spreadsheets, which 22% of teams reported doing.
Scorecards Key metrics week over week with trends, streaks, and benchmarks, visible in the room where decisions get made. Performance discussed from gut feeling rather than a running record.
Updates Customizable async check-ins on a set cadence, with late check-ins visible at a glance and files attached inline. Recurring status meetings and the chase for updates.
AI insights Pattern analysis between documented standards and live activity, plus Team Pulse health signals across scorecards, meetings, updates, and content. Finding out something slipped after it became a problem.

Why the company built it

Trainual research into how growing teams run found that operational follow-through commonly lives outside any system. 31% of teams reported keeping meeting notes in documents, 22% tracked goals in spreadsheets, and 24% relied on memory to keep accountability straight.

The same research surfaced the constraint that shaped the product decision. 57% of teams named "one more tool" as the primary barrier to improving how they operate, while 49% named accountability as their top operational priority. Building operations into the system teams already use for process documentation and onboarding and training was a direct response to both findings.

Announced at Playbook 2026

Playbook 2026 ran May 14 to 16, with the first two days at The Van Buren in downtown Phoenix and the final day hosted at Trainual HQ in Tempe. Roughly 150 operators and leaders from teams running Trainual attended the conference, which is built around hands-on system building rather than keynote programming.

Availability

The Operations suite is available now. Existing customers can add it to their account by contacting their Trainual representative, and teams evaluating the platform can book a demo.
