New Trainual Templates Make It Easier Than Ever To Build Your Business Playbook
February 3, 2020
Trainual Templates make it easier than ever to start building out training content for your business.
Most of you have tuned into the ever-popular HGTV series, Fixer Upper, or another home renovation show at some point or another.
At the start of the show, you see these run-down shacks, oftentimes with a crumbling, poor foundation. There’s water damage, there’s poor electrical wiring, the plumbing is bad – it’s pure chaos.
But then Chip and Joanna come in to save the day. They take the mess, bring in the experts, and make it beautiful, inspiring homeowners all over the country to flip and renovate their own homes. The only problem with this is that the novice homeowners, who have never completed a renovation project before, find that it’s a lot harder than it looks.
They know what they want the end result to look like, but they don’t know how to work all of the moving pieces and organize the team to get it done. They’re stuck and don’t know where to start.
That’s what it can feel like when you first start documenting your processes, policies, and procedures.
You have this idea of a beautiful, magical playbook that holds the law of the land for your business, but when you sit down to actually create it, it doesn’t feel like magic at all. What should you document first? How should you write it? What should go where?
After speaking with tons of our customers, we’ve learned two really important things:
- Lots of companies are documenting the same things
- Sometimes you just need a little nudge in the right direction and a foundation to build on
And from that knowledge, we created Trainual Templates!
We’ve done the work for you
We took two approaches to create templates.
First, we made templates that are universal for a lot of businesses, like an employee handbook, sales playbook, or an orientation outline for your new hire’s first day.
Second, we made a batch of templates that highlight the specific tools that you might use in your business, like an intro to Gmail, Outlook, or Slack.
The reason we did this is so that you don’t need to start completely from scratch. You can simply use something we’ve created for you after working with tons of companies and seeing how they’re building content.
The templates are fully customizable so you’re able to adjust them as needed for the specific processes you have at your company.
It saves you time, hesitation, and confusion by having a clearly laid out, head start on what we know works well for our customers.
Up your content game
You can add templates to your own Trainual account in two ways.
When you first join Trainual, you’ll go through an onboarding flow – part of which prompts you to add the templates that make sense for your business.
Once you’ve already set up your account, you can also access templates on the left side navigation. From there, you can scroll and look at all of the different categories like what’s most popular, what’s featured, or you’re able to search and filter based on what’s relevant to your business.
When you’re deciding what Templates to use, you can individually click on each one to read a description, a pro tip, and see how many other people have downloaded it.
You can also click to preview the template and view an outline of what it will look like.
The current Template Library has over 30 pre-built templates, and this is just the beginning.
As we continue to talk with our customers and partner with subject matter experts, this library will continue to populate with content that’s relevant to different verticals, different industries, different geographies, and more.
Our hope is that Templates make adding content to Trainual a lot easier for you. We hope you like it and if you have any feedback, give us a shout and look for this to continually improve.
