New Summer Features Bring In-App Screen Recording, GIFs, and Free Stock Photos!

How fun is it to build or read a training manual that is just a giant wall of text? Not very. We know that.

Adding images and/or videos to your training material are proven ways to boost engagement and knowledge retention for operational processes and procedures, but these days, GIFs, emojis, and memes are also powerful info recall tools!

GIFs a major part of our communication culture here at Trainual, and our product team has been obsessed with how to make training more human, more modern, and just more fun. So we’ve been grinding away this summer under the Arizona sun to bring you some really exciting new features that make it easy to build more refreshing and fun content into your Trainual account!

Our New In-App Screen Recorder

Within our own training material, we found it effective to use screen recording tools like Loom and Screencastify to actually show how to do something as opposed to just writing about it. When we noticed our customers doing the same thing, we knew we needed to add an In-App Screen Recorder to our list of features.

Well, we’re excited to say that it’s here! Premium users can now open the screen recorder from within the Trainual text editor to easily create professional grade screen recordings with no additional services or tools needed.

We’ve found that training material is far more effective when you include hands-on video content, improving overall engagement and knowledge retention.

Check out the quick video below for a complete how-to.

Love GIFs? Welcome, GIPHY Integration

Who doesn’t like GIFs? (It’s our preferred form of communication here at Trainual ?).

Picture a training experience you may have had at one of your first jobs. You probably had to sit and read through the pages of your employee handbook or a stack of policies and procedures with zero excitement and, if we’re honest, poor retention. It probably would have been nice to see something fun break up all of the text.

That’s where our new GIPHY integration comes in! You can now insert a GIF seamlessly from within the text editor.

Using GIFs in your training material is another great way to liven up otherwise boring process documentation and increase employee engagement. You’re able to communicate the emotion of the information, and express your awesome company culture at the same time.

Making It Easy To Add Photos With Our Free Pixabay Stock Image Library

Staying on the media train, we also released access to thousands of stock images that you can access right from your account.

We know that creating your playbook can take some time, especially if you’re working hard to make it memorable and exciting. With our stock library, you’ll not only have a great selection of images to add to your training manual, you’ll also cut down on time to create content by having the media resources right at your fingertips. Sounds like a win to us!
