About the Holiday Schedule Policy
Why We Have a Holiday Schedule
Our company values the cultural and historical significance of United States holidays, and we believe that offering time off on these holidays is an important part of supporting our employees and their families.
As such, we have implemented an employee policy for having United States holidays off. We encourage all employees to take advantage of this opportunity to spend time with their loved ones and to celebrate the cultural and historical significance of these holidays.
Our Holiday Schedule
Under this policy, all employees are entitled to time off on the following United States holidays:
- New Year's Day.
- Martin Luther King Jr. Day.
- Presidents' Day.
- Memorial Day.
- Juneteenth.
- Independence Day.
- Labor Day.
- Veteran’s Day.
- Thanksgiving Day.
- Christmas Day.
Employees who are normally scheduled to work on any company holidays will be given the day off, and they will receive their regular pay for the day.
Holiday Work
Roles that Work on Holidays
These roles may be required to work on holidays, depending on the needs of the organization. Reach out to your direct manager for clarification on your holiday work expectations. Some examples of roles that may be required to work on holidays include:
- Customer service representatives: These employees may be required to work on holidays to provide support to customers or clients, especially if the office is open on holidays.
- IT support staff: These employees may be required to work on holidays to ensure that the office's IT systems are functioning properly and to provide technical support to employees who are working on holidays.
- Maintenance or facilities staff: These employees may be required to work on holidays to ensure that the office building is properly maintained and to address any issues that may arise.
- Security staff: These employees may be required to work on holidays to ensure the safety and security of the office building and its employees.
- Management staff: Managers and supervisors may also be required to work on holidays to ensure that the office is running smoothly and to manage the employees who are working on holidays.
Holiday Work Needs
Your manager will inform you if your role is required to work on any company holidays. Employees who are required to work on any of these holidays will be eligible for holiday pay, which is equal to their regular pay plus an additional premium.
Notes about taking holiday time off:
- Holiday time off is granted on a first-come, first-served basis.
- Only 5 people per role on each shift may take a given holiday off.
- You may only take 2 working holidays off per calendar year, unless there is availability for you to take more (based on the needs of the company).
