Company Device Ownership Policy

Why We Have a Device Policy

At our company, we provide company-owned devices, such as laptops and smartphones, to our employees to support their job duties and responsibilities. We are committed to ensuring that our employees have the tools and resources they need to be productive and successful, and we are also committed to protecting the security and integrity of our company's information and data.

Your Electronic Devices

Here are the devices we provide to all of our employees:

  1. Laptops: For work-related tasks such as creating documents, accessing company emails, and connecting to company networks.
  2. Smartphones: For business purposes, such as making calls, sending text messages, and accessing company emails while on the go.
  3. Desktop computers: For employees to use in their offices or workstations.
  4. Tablets: For tasks such as taking notes, accessing company documents, and attending virtual meetings.

Our Device Policy

Our company device ownership policy outlines our expectations for the use and care of company-owned devices and the steps we are taking to protect our company's information and data.

  1. Employees are responsible for the care and maintenance of their company-owned devices, including keeping them in good working condition and protecting them from damage or loss.
  2. Employees are prohibited from using their company-owned devices for personal purposes, unless specifically authorized by their manager or supervisor.
  3. Employees are responsible for ensuring the security of their company-owned devices and the information and data stored on them. This includes using strong passwords, regularly updating security software, and protecting the devices from unauthorized access or use.
  4. Employees must report any security incidents or potential security threats involving their company-owned devices to their manager or supervisor or to IT immediately.
  5. Employees are required to return their company-owned devices upon termination of employment or upon request from their manager or supervisor.

We are committed to providing our employees with the tools and resources they need to be successful, and we are also committed to protecting the security and integrity of our company's information and data. Our company device ownership policy is an important part of that commitment.

Damage to Devices

If you damage a company-owned device, you should inform your supervisor or the appropriate person in your company as soon as possible. Depending on the nature and extent of the damage, the company may require that you pay for repairs or replacement costs. It's important to be honest and upfront about the damage, as attempting to conceal it could result in disciplinary action.

If the damage was accidental and not due to negligence or misuse on your part, you may be able to have the repairs or replacement costs covered by the company. If the damage was caused by negligence or misuse, the company may require that you pay for the repairs or replacement.

By e-signing, you acknowledge that you understand and agree to follow all of the guidelines outlined in this policy.
