Dress and Tools Policies
Dress Code
How you present yourself leaves clients and coworkers with a lasting impression of you and our company. So, while we want you to wear what is comfortable, we also want you to show up dressed for success. Our everyday dress code is comfortable but professional.
All employees are expected to maintain an appropriate appearance that is neat and clean. Dress and appearance should not be offensive to customers or other employees.
Apparel
You should wear appropriate and clean uniform attire at all times while on the job.
- We provide uniform shirts for you to wear.
- You may wear comfortable (plain) black pants or jeans and shoes.
- Your hair should be neat and good personal hygiene habits are required (shower, brush teeth, wear deodorant).
A complete list of inappropriate attire would be impossible to write; however, the following are some examples of inappropriate dress:
- DO NOT wear tattered jeans or jeans with holes in them.
- DO NOT wear clothing displaying vulgar pictures or language.
- DO NOT wear clothing that reveals midriffs. This includes any revealing or provocative clothing such as short shorts.
Hygiene
Please note that our dress code applies to your overall appearance - including hygiene. And we expect everyone to come to work clean. This includes any clothes or belongings brought with you.
Apron
Your apron is a part of your uniform and must be worn (and used) at all times on the job.
Your apron should be clean and organized according to the speed cleaning method, shown below.
Vacuum
You'll be using your issued vacuum for every clean, so be sure to follow all instructions for use, cleaning, and maintenance.
Learn how it works
Spend some time figuring out how all of the parts of your vacuum work. Including how to clean the roller, connecting tubes, etc., so your vacuum functions well at all times.
Cleaning your vacuum
Your vacuum should be cleaned out at the end of every clean. This process will depend on the model of your vacuum.
Maintenance
Ensure you are following all factory instructions for vacuum use and maintenance. Contact your supervisor if you are having maintenance issues with your vacuum.
Tip: YouTube is a great resource for understanding your vacuum.
Cloths
Make sure you have plenty of clean cloths ready at the beginning of each day.
You are responsible for washing your cleaning cloths. The microfiber (glass) cloths have special cleaning needs.
Microfiber Cloths
There are a few different methods you can use for microfiber cloth cleaning:
1. The washing machine:
Clean your cloths in the washer using warm water and a gentle liquid detergent. Afterward, place the cloths in the dryer on low heat with no dryer sheet. Check back in a few minutes as it takes very little time for microfiber to dry.
One of the benefits of cleaning with microfiber is that it lasts a long time. Many microfiber cloths can be used for up to 500 washes! To make sure they stay long-lasting...
- DO NOT use powdered detergents, fabric softener, or bleach
- DO NOT wash your cloths in hot water
- DO NOT clean microfiber with cotton — even the most minuscule lint particles can clog the fibers of your cloth, rendering it useless
2. The dishwasher:
That’s right. You can wash your microfiber cloth along with your dinner dishes. For the best results, lay your cloth flat on the top rack of the dishwasher. Once the cleaning cycle has run its course, hang your microfiber over your kitchen faucet until it’s dry.
3. The microwave:
Microfiber cloth cleaning can take place in the microwave as long as your cloth isn’t heavily soiled. Simply dampen your cloth and microwave it for 60 seconds. Let the cloth cool before removing it. Once the cloth is dry, it’s ready to use again.
Communication Policies
Chain of Communication
Cleaning technicians will communicate with the lead cleaner first if there is one present. Solo cleaners and lead cleaners report to the office manager.
Employment Issues
If you have an issue affecting your employment, please contact your direct supervisor first.
Note that when you are on a clean, it's important that you communicate anything out of the ordinary to your direct supervisor.

Cell Phones
Your cell phone is a part of your uniform. You are required to have your cell phone on you while you are on the job. You will use your phone to see location and details about your clean, clock in and out, and refer to Trainual for proper policies, processes, and procedures.
Our office staff must be able to reach you to communicate changes to your schedule, changes to your assigned services, safety concerns, etc.
Phone Don'ts
We expect you to make good decisions about when and how you use your phone while on the job. Because your job requires focus, concentration, and awesome attention to detail.
Not to mention, you'll make the best money (hello, tips ) when you are doing excellent cleaning in the most efficient manner. This can't happen when you are distracted.
DO NOT talk on the phone while you clean.
Talking on the phone while you clean is not acceptable. Spending time on your phone while working (social media, texting, etc.) is also not appropriate. Responding to a quick text as needed is fine as long as it is not a frequent occurrence.
DO NOT take photos on the customer premises.
(Unless approved in advance by the Office Manager). Transmission of any company information, logos, data, and/or photos of the premises, clients, or any employee, is strictly forbidden.
You'll learn about phone use while driving later in this subject. But, in short: don't use your phone in any way while driving to and from your job.
Customer Service Policies
Customer Privacy
Clients trust us to come into their homes and pray that we don't judge them or talk about what we see or hear when we are in their safe place.
It is imperative that we both respect our client's privacy - not looking in places we shouldn't look - and that we keep any sensitive (or potentially sensitive) information to ourselves.
When in doubt, do not talk about what you see or hear in a client's house with anyone other than your manager, as needed.
Confidentiality
Each employee is responsible for safeguarding confidential information obtained in connection with his/her employment. In the course of your work, you may have access to confidential information regarding this company, our clients, or our employees.
It is your responsibility to, in no way, reveal or divulge any such information unless it is necessary for you to do so in the performance of your duties. Access to confidential information should be on a need-to-know basis and must be authorized by your supervisor.
Any breach of this policy will not be tolerated and will be dealt with as appropriate for the infraction.
Customer Property
Respect the client's property — always.
- If you break or damage something, let your manager know immediately.
- DO NOT use anything of the client's — television, computer, perfume, etc.
- DO NOT eat any food.
- DO NOT ask for any favors from the client.
- DO NOT tell clients about personal issues.
100% Satisfaction Guarantee
This company has a 100% "satisfaction guarantee," which means that if a customer calls to complain, you will be required to go back to the house and do a re-clean.
We try to be reasonable with labor hours and also about making exceptions to the labor hour “rule,” as needed, but we don't always get it right. Sometimes a job simply takes a little longer than expected.
NEVER leave a job undone. Call a manager if you are unsure about what to do.
